A boy, girl, and togruta girl were having a wrestling contest; half were arguing; five people less than half were dueling with their lightsabors; and the remaining few were standing around trying to calm everybody down.
Reyjin stood in the middle of the room with her mouth open. Then she cupped her hands around it and hollered, "Ho-o-old!"
The response was instantaneous. Every single kid in the room froze. Reyjin walked over to a boy in the middle of the room.
"Sikito, what is going on?" she asked him. "Why is Strong Squad here?" The boy - Sikito - shrugged.
"They just showed up after you left and wouldn't budge. Well, Brandi did," he said. Reyjin turned and glared at a girl with orange hair.
"Maybe you could leave now, Amesa?" she asked. Amesa cocked her head to the side and shrugged.
"It's our training room, too, you know," she said. The boy who had been wrestling Amesa stood up.
"Actually, this one only True Team's," he said. Amesa shrugged again and left with a boy and girl following her. Reyjin watched them go.
"Well, now that they're gone, I can introduce the team," she said. Another boy came over.
"Maybe you can introduce the random human stranger you dragged in this time?" he asked. Reyjin shrugged, unfazed. I couldn't help thinking, this time?
"Guys, this is my sister Winera," she announced. "Winera, this is my Padawon team. Sikito, Zenla, Besk, Tilo, Seirsha, Dari, and Cordic."
Besk and Seirsha had been wrestling with Amesa. Tilo was the one who had asked Reyjin to introduce me. Dari was examining me. She turned to my sister.
"Tell me you're not trying to make her become a Jedi, too!" she said. Reyjin just grinned. Cordic groaned.
"Is it because Aera isn't here?" he asked. Reyjin shook her head.
"It's because she's my sister," she replied firmly. I tapped her shoulder.
"Reyjin, who is Aera? Where is she?" I asked. Reyjin replied that she was her soon-to-be master, and a while ago, Aera had traded herself for Reyjin as a prisoner to a Separatist named Lyra. I shuddered. I'd met Lyra before.
"I know Lyra," I said quietly. "If Lyra has her, that doesn't sound good." Reyjin nodded sadly.
"I'm hoping to go and find her at some point," she said, "but Master Windu won't let me." I cocked my head to the side.
"I'd go with you," I said. Zenla smiled at me and patted my arm. She seemed to act like an older sister to Reyjin. Before my sister could reply to what I said, Tilo snorted.
"The stranger doesn't even know her. Anyways, she could be dead, for all we know!" he said. Cordic snickered.
"Or switched sides," he added. Both boys burst out laughing. My sister turned to them angrily.
Her fist flew.
A second later, neither boys were laughing, and both had a black eye. Reyjin gave them a satisfied nod.
"Don't speak like that again, or your nose will match your shiner," she threatened. Sikito came over to her side.
"Reyjin, don't be so mean to the boys, please," he said. "Besides, your scaring our - your- sister." Reyjin glanced at me. I wasn't scared just impressed. Never had I yet seen some one with as fast a fist. Seirsha grinned at me.
"Well, Winera, count yourself lucky!" she announced. "You've had a True Team welcome. Much better than anything Strong Squad could give you. Feel at home yet?"
At home? Yes. I hadn't felt this kind of happiness in so long, I barely recognized it.
