You asked!
I answer!
Y'all asked me some questions about me and my stories, so noooooooow......
I'M GONNA ANSWER THEM!
Question 1 from R. F. Gammon:
"Which of your characters is your favorite?"
From the Jedi Story, probably Winera or Ava or Raedon. (who will be met later). From my other stories...? well, probably Zarkah or Norma.
Question 2 from R. F. Gammon:
"Why write about Star Wars, specifically?"
Well, for a while I had a hard time writing ANYTHING. Then I started playing this Star Wars-based game with some of my neighbors. We have this CRAZY story coming, so one day I decided to start writing about it. And I just kept going, until I thought I'd post it all here! :)
Question 3 from R. F. Gammon:
"Who is your favorite character in Star Wars proper?"
Qui-Gon Jinn. Or Chirrut Imwe. Or R2-D2. NO ONE loves the actual hero enough! :(
Question 4 from R. F. Gammon:
"What music do you like to write to?"
To tell the truth, I don't really listen to that much music while I write. If I do, though, probably Two Steps from Hell, Lindsey Stirling, Star Wars ;), or Lord of the Rings. Heap on the instrumentals!
Question 5 from R. F. Gammon:
"What is the best thing to do with an open afternoon?"
Read. Write. Play chess. Sew. See friends.
Question 6 from Unknown (a.k.a., my mom;)):
"Do you ever have writer's block? How do you get past it?"
Yes. Yes, I do. *Sigh* A lot, actually. I also suffer from the case of not wanting to work on that particular story just then, so.... yeah. I get past it by working on a different story. That's why I have started so many! :)
Question 7 from Unknown:
"Have you planned your whole story out ahead of time, or do you make it up as you go along?"
It depends on the story. For my Star Wars story, this is all something I played with my neighbors. For some of my stories, I decide what will happen in the other books before I've even written the second chapter of the first! In one of my stand-alones, Woods, I have a few ideas about what I want to happen, but I'm mostly just deciding what happens as I go. So it really depends.
Question 8 from Nicki Chapelway:
"What's your favorite trope? To read? To write? (because they don't necessarily have to be the same thing xD)"
To write, I really like long-lost relatives of some sort. To read....? I don't know.
Question 9 from Nicki Chapelway:
"Favorite ice cream flavor?"
Normal flavors? Neapolitan. For the Kinda-crazy-Maine-local-ice-cream-shops-only flavors, Lobster Tracks (vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl and caramel cups) or Maple.
Question 10 from Nicki Chapelway:
"Any 2021 writing goals?"
Well, I do hope that I get at least two more stories accepted by Havok. I want to finish the first draft of Team 14 book one: Stones of Forever. And.......well, probably just keep working on my other books ad stuff.
The next few questions were unable to load on my blog, so they were sent to me.
Question 11 from felicialang:
"Where do you get inspiration for your stories?"
It depends on the story. When I'm writing my Havok short stories, the people at Havok give you a prompt, so that helps in that case. Usually, I start a story from a name I really like, or a song, or something like that. I especially write about the things I like to read.
Question 12 from felicialang:
"How often do you write?"
I try to write something every day. Sometimes it's a Havok story, sometimes it's one of my longer books, and sometimes it's school super boring just an essay or something.
Question 13 from felicialang:
"How do you come up with your characters?"
The name always comes first. I hear a name that catches my ear, and I latch onto it. Going through my stories, you'll find I always have a character that is supposed to be me. In Team 14, it's Larken. In Woods, it's Alet. Often, I reuse a personality from a different character that I really like. I don't base my characters after real people very often, but it does happen occasionally.
I hope y'all had fun reading this post!
Remember: you can ask questions ANYTIME. I want to know what you're thinking about my story.
Have a great day!
