S.P.W. Woods

I am terrible at this on time thing. I am so sorry. It has been kinda crazy lately. SO.

WOODS

A little while ago, there was a writing contest called 'Five Poisened Apples'. It was a Snow-white retelling contest. I got an idea, but never got around to writing it. I've started it by now.

So here's some about it.

Woods is about a girl named Carialyn, or Cari, who is a princess in hiding, and part dragon.
Basicly the way I explaine it the blurb, so.......

BLURB

When the kingdom is under threat of attack by the wynuchs, the king's only hope to protect his daughter is to turn to the lord of the fey: the dragon king.
The only way to save the young princess is to turn her into a fey, and to send her into hiding.
Many years later, one of the mynuchs, Marredyn, finds her and sends her slave Skarento to kill her.
Young Carialyn flees to the woods to hide, and is found by a group of other half or full fey children. Under the guidence of an elf named Norma, she learns about her power and how to harness it. But as her power grows, so does Marredyn's.
The wynuch will stop at nothing to see the princess dead....

No, nothing bad happens.... maybe 😈
Hehe....
FORGET IT
yeah.....

ANYWAYS

THE....

CHARACTERS

CARIALYN
Yeah, she's pretty cool looking. Gets some scales later, though that nothing. "Allergic" to certain fruits (apples especially ;)), like most dragons. She loves kitchen knives, and setting things on fire, and is getting better at loping things off with a sword. Still terrible at flying. Cari basicly just posed majesticly for her portrait here.

NORMA
M-hm. Yep. I can't tell you very much about her, beCAUse.... SPOILERS. Yeah, I have a charcter like that in all my books. Sorry, not sorry. She can control the element of earth, and is 🤯ly good at it. Can turn anything into a weapon, although archery is her #1.

TRITON
Sadly, I coudn't find a picture of a half-gryphon boy on google images, so this will have to do. :(
SO. Triton. He's some one VERY special, but... hehe..... SPOILERS. Sorry. Always has talons, so he fights with those. LOVES electricuting everything, so hehe. Yeaaaaaaaah. ANYWAYS uses a sword, dagger, knife, teeth, terrible at archer, but likes to eat bows, is crazy hungery ALL THE TIME.
Yeah.

THE OTHER CHARACTERS

--> Leoth
--> Dervek
--> Alet
--> Vura

Those are the other fey that Cari hides with. The others have asked for pivacy, so I said okay (slightly grudgingly, I might add.  Rubrumex, be quiet.)

So, now for a sneak-peek at a scene.....

Cari sat against a tree, watching the others walk around.
She felt Norma's eyes on her, but tried to ignore them, instead seeking Vura.
The mermaid smiled at her. "Not liking your first night in the wild?" she asked kindly. Before Cari could reply, Norma passed them.
"I've told you, Vura, she's some sort of richy. 'Course she's uncomfortable."
"Nori, you can't make guesses like that." Triton swung out of his hamock and cracked his neck. "You have no idea who are what she is."
Norma stared at Cari. "Then you haven't been paying attention to mythology class, gryphon. She's a dragon, don't you know? The biggest enemy of the elves. How many have died because of her people?"

JUST REMEBER I SAID SPOILERS ABOUT NORMA. THAT IS THE ONLY CLIP YOU GET BECAUSE...... (you're probably tired of this word by now.....) SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Yeah.

ANYWAYS I hope you enjoyed hearing about Woods.
all pictures were found on google imges. i own nothing.
I'm not promising when the final post will be out, but I will try to have it sometime THIS WEEK.
I WILL GET IT DONE.

BYE.

S.P.W. : flash-fiction

Hi everyone and welcome to day #3 of Sneak-peek week!

So I know I'm a day late, and TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS, so I'm going to be doing TWO posts today, and the final post will be on Wednesday.

This post is about some of my flash-fiction stories.

There is an online writer's magazine called Havok that you can write stories for. They give you a prompt, and you write a story with 300-1000 words. If they like it, they accept it. Both me and my older sister have been published by it.

“Shape-shifter!”

The words echo in my ears, but this time, they’re not aimed at me.

I’m not a shifter, merely an illusionist. It’s people’s eyes who change, not me. We can take on a few characteristics of the animal, like super-speed, flight, or deep-sea swimming. And even if it weakens my other senses, my vision is that of an eagle. There are few other illusionists around, and I’m lucky I can see through their disguises.

Maybe that’s why I’m such a successful detective.

I’m walking through a dark alley on the way home when I hear the scream.

Followed by a thunk. Then a whimpering sob.

My feet run toward the sound.

In a second, I’m crouching next to a child about age eight curled up in a tiny ball on the ground. I touch her shoulder gently. She whirls upward and stares at me, her eyes wide and lips quivering.

I take a small step back. “I’m not gonna hurt you.”

She cowers against the side of the building.

“My name’s Cara Goulet.”

She squints at me. “The shape-shifter detective?”

I groan and cover my face. “I’m an illusionist, not a shifter. There’s a difference.” Her eyes still seem distrustful, but her shoulders relax slightly.

“Are you okay?”

 She nods then winces.

“What’s your name?”

“I’m Anna.” she whispers. She turns her shoulder around. There’s a dart stuck in her upper back. “It hurts.”

I reach to pull it out, but stop. Gotta think carefully.

“Did you see what your attacker looked like, Anna?” I get out a pocket-knife and flip it to the pliers.

She nods.

“He was at my house three nights ago.”

I stoop over her shoulder to pull the dart out.

“He killed my parents.”

I stare at her in shock. “You’re Anna Quin?”

She takes a shaky breath and starts to cower away from me again.

“I was the only witness.” Anna tenses her legs. “That’s still alive, that is.”

I position the pliers over her shoulder.

“Might want to brace yourself.” The little girl stuffs the hem of her skirt into her mouth. I take a deep breath to steady my hand.I yank.

Anna lets out a tiny yelp, then presses her hand to the wound. I examine the dart.

Sure enough, I see fingerprints. Sometimes having powerful eyes is helpful.

And the prints make my heart stop.

“What’s wrong?” Ann’s voice quivers.

“The fingerprints,” I stammer. “They match Rex Loker.”

Rex Loker was a fellow illusionist. We went to college together and were close. Very close. We used to practice testing each other’s fingerprints. I know his as well as my own.

“Rex and Dad used to be friends, but lately all they would do was fight when he came over,” Anna said. “He owed Dad a lot of money. The other night, while they were playing cards -”

“Rex stabbed him.”

Anna nodded and tried to hold back her tears.

“Mom saw him do it, so he stabbed her, too. I got away by crawling out my bedroom window.”

I shook my head in disbelief. That didn’t sound like Rex. He was always the A+ student, always wanting to help. What had happened? “Where did you go?”

Anna pointed at an abandoned house nearby. “I hid there. I thought I’d be safe. Until today. He came looking for me.”

I lean back on my heels and let out a deep breath.

“Well, now we just need to find him.”

For anyone else, trying to find an illusionist who doesn’t want to be found would be impossible. Not for me.

Anna stands up and grabs my hand. “There,” she whispers.

She’s staring at a gray tom-cat sitting in the abandoned house’s doorway. But Anna is right. There is something not quite right about it.

Our suspicion is confirmed when the cat stands up, stretches, and turns into a hawk.

“Shape-shifter!” Anna panics. She wraps her arms around my waist and stares after Rex.

I break from her grip. “Wait here.” I run after Rex, ready to leap into action, but I hesitate. He was my friend; I can’t betray him like this.

He hurt innocents. Yes, I can.

My mind races for a type of bird I can become. I leap into the air after Rex, morph into an eagle, and fly, my wings soaring strong. When Rex sees me, he squawks and tries to knock me down, but when I said I have eagle-eyes, I wasn’t joking. I see it coming and grab his talon, which to my eyes is his human ankle. Rex shrieks and pummels me with his wings, or rather fists. I strengthen my grip and hold on.

We tumble to the ground. I land on top of Rex and lower the eagle illusion. Using an authoritative voice, I command, “Drop the illusion.”

With a grunt, he complies.

Anna runs up and kicks him in the shin. Hard. “That’s for my parents,” she growls. I pull her away from him, hand her my phone, and tell her to call 911.

I sit on Rex, waiting, until the police arrive. As they escort him away, Rex glares at me.

“And I thought we were friends.”

I try to hide my mixed feelings with an indifferent shrug.

“Well, when you pick on innocents, you turn good friends into dangerous enemies.”

So.... yeah.

I hope you liked it!

S.P.W. Team 14 Trilogy

Welcome everyone to DAY 2 of Sneak-Peek Week!

Today's post is going to be about my #1 WIP:

TEAM 14:
Stones of Forever

Team 14 is going to be a trilogy. It is a fantasy-adventure-quest-type story, and has a Lord of the Rings vibe.

Soo.... Let's get to the exiting stuff!

CHARACTERS

KREVER
Is the leader of the team. He's very loyal, slightly impulsive at times, and kind of awkward in most situations. His main weapon is a sword, although it has been found that he is pretty good with throwing knives.

REGGA
Is basically the main character of the trilogy, since she gets most of the cool stuff. On first glance, she's a big softie, but she is actually fiercely loyal (like Krever, this is going to be a big thing, woops), and a strong fighter. Anyone who knows her for thirty minutes will know that she WILL get her way. Her favorite weapons are bows/arrows, and a flik-knife (more about later).

KIERRAN
Is the musician of the team. Give her a dead stick, and in three minutes she'll be able to make some sort of music on it. Her favorite instruments are flutes and violins. She's a great warrior and sister, since both of her younger siblings were turned into wolves, and you just need to see the way she protects them. Favorite weapon is a bow (both violin and archery).

NERCH
Is important for SPOILERS. CANNOT TELL WHY. He.. um... never mind. Even if I scream when ever I talk about him, he's okay cool. Main weapon is, well, fangs and claws. And LIES. woops.... I might have said too much...

There ARE more characters, 10 of them actually, but I'll just highlight a FEW:

ZARKAH
Zarkah is the Legolas of Team 14. She is the crazy archer who jumps into trouble without weighing the odds.

SIERVE
Is awesome. Sorry. Just had to say that. ANYWAYS. He is tracker, and the only weaponry he will use is something related to a stick (ex. staff or spear).

CARTHIG
Is one of my personal favorites. HE IS SO GREAT! Ahem. I love Carthig. He is Nerch's younger brother, and the better of the two. Goes along well with Zarkah right into trouble. HE IS GREAT! His main weaponry is also fangs and claws.

KLOIE
Is the BRAVEST on the team. She joins up with these random strangers and goes off to who-knows where and... yeah... Best weapon is throwing knives and insults.

FERNOG
Is one of Kierran's younger siblings. He was turned into a wolf by... um, let's call it dark magic. Hehe. Yep. Moving on... He's pretty cool. Main weapon is just fangs.

DOPHIE
GIVE ME A MOMENT TO SCREAM. I LOVE THIS GIRL. OH MY GOODNESS. ILOVE THIS GIRL. SHE IS SO GREAT. ILOVETHIS GIRL. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. SHE IS THE BEST. ILOVETHISGIRL. UM. Sorry. She's the little sweet-pea. She is adorable. She is perfect. She is claustrophobic. She is awesome. ILOVEHERSOMUCH. #dophieisthebest. She is a archer.

SOOOOOOOOO. Sorry. The other characters are:
*Tranea
*Lerman
*Larken
*Merryuh
And they're pretty great. I love all my charcters.

And now for the....

BLURB

Krever lives as normal a life a fifteen year old boy living as a rebel can. The only thing he struggles with is his past, and how to move forward.
Now, his past is catching up to him.
His life falls apart with a single question.
When Krever is given a quest to hopefully save the Kraidare system from the wer-kolves, he agrees -even though he knows so many have failed on this same mission.
With his team, Krever sets out. But there is a traitor in their midst. when the team is scattered by a surprise attack, the mission is close to failure.
Krever must now survive with two girls he barely knows, and a wolf that might not be trustworthy...

😇
Not terrifying at all.

NOW... how about a peek at a few snippets...

"What do you know of the migscaths?"
The general was talking to him again. "Um." Krever blinked. "They were rocks."
General Tevens sighed. "They are stones. They have a power inside them. And they still exist."
Here Tevens paused.
"They are what you are going to find."

MOVING ON

"We're looking for some fugitives!" The wer-kolf shoved his way to the front of the crowd. "Four of 'em to be exact. A boy, two girls, and a wolf. You seen them?"
Krever shot Zarkah a look. She nodded and gripped her dagger. They slowly made their way away from the crowded market.
Forget that kid. They had to warn the others.
"Over here, sir!"  A wolf sprang at them. Zarkah sprang at it and stabbed its leg. Krever grabbed her wrist and they ran.
They had to make it.

Don't worry: it doesn't happen exactly like that. Only slightly.

So I hope you enjoyed today's Sneak-Peek Week post! Come back tomorrow for some dragons and apples. I hope you have a great day!

Welcome to S.P.W. and Christmas

Welcome to Sneak-peak Week!

Just want to say have fun! This is going to be quite the roller coaster. Today is going to be about... well, you'll see. Tomorrow is going to be about my WIP (work in progress). After that is a little about where I got published ;) ;). Then one of my other novels, and finally, a chapter from my other fan-fiction stories. SOOOOOOOOOO..

ENJOY!

So each of my stories has their own type of Christmas.

Team 14: Celebration of Lights. My name for God in Team 14 is the Father of Lights (James 1:17)

Woods: Yahwahestmens. In Woods, Yahwah is the name of God. Yahwah is THE LORD in Hebrew.

Most of my others are in America or Star Wars, so they don't that much different Christmases than us. But the traditions I've made for the Celebration of Lights and Yahwahestmens are quite interesting.

For the Celebration of Lights, each family or gathering has a tree of any sort  (oak, pine, Daimaipel ;), etc.). Sometimes they put pretty balls or bells or something like that,  but they always put on candles. The candles remain unlit until our Christmas eve, their  Night of Lights. Then each member of the family or group take turns lighting the candles with the candle from inside the Top-star.  Then they sing songs, open gifts, etc.. That is the Celebration of Lights.

Yahwahestmens is Yahwah's Day and Time. It's the most like our Christmas, celebrating Jesus's birth,  but with a fantasy twist to it.  Same kind of thing for us, just  take away the stockings.  They give gifts, sing carols,  recite the Nativity story, same ol' same ol' as us.

Of  course, there is my TOP SECRET story, big secret, just mentioning it breaks my pact of silence... which I don't have. SOOO.  Yeah... maybe later.

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED HEARING ABOUT THE DIFFERENT HOLIDAYS IN MY DIFFERENT WORLDS! CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR MORE FUN!

Chapter 9

"Run!"

I leaped down from the pole and took down two of the guards before they knew what was happening.

Reyjin and Zenla took off, looking back at me every now and then. I ran after them, kicking and punching the pursuing guards whenever they got too close.

As I ran between a gap in the wall, a blue light flashed, and a sharp pain flashed up my leg.

I staggard a few feet more, then fell to the ground.

Curse Kykkin's shock traps!

Traps I'd helped design.

I shook my head hard. Come on, Winera, not time to think about that, get moving!

I shoved myself up and started off again. My entire left leg was numb up to the thigh, so I was basically hopping while dragging it behind me. Finally, the numbness wore off, and although it still smarted like crazy, I was able to run again.

Within a few minutes, I found Reyjin and Zenla. They were in a small alcove of the cliff side.

"And I used to like this place," Reyjin grumbled as the soldiers rushed in at us. She glanced upward. "All man for himself."

She made a move to jump up the cliff wall, but more guards came and cut off that route. The soldiers in the front parted and Kykkin walked forward.

"Welcome back, Hunter-girl."

We were caught.

SOOOOOOOOOO.... It's dark. I know. The next chapters are worse, and only slightly brain-exploding. But sadly, you will have to wait two weeks to find out what happens next. BECAUUUUUUUSE....... next week is going to be what I call "Sneak-Peek Week".

It's going to be about some of my other writings. Like blurbs, sneak-peaks, etc.. It'll be fun. I will be starting on Monday, and will go to Friday. SOOOOOOOOO.... until then, happy reading!

Chapter 8

"Why are you here?"

The captain of this odd army glared at us.

"The better question, sir, is why are you here?" I retorted.

The man's face turned purple. "I am here to track down any trespassers to our lord's planet."

"Who is your lord?" Reyjin asked.

Let me handle this, Reyjin.

"His name is Tornyai. And that's all you need to know, little lady."

"Now, see here-" Reyjin took a step forward. I quickly restrained her.

Reyjin! Let me handle this! Please?

"So, your lord Tornyai rules this system? Who gave him this power?"

The captain faltered. "He-he gave it to himself."

"How droll. I could do better. When can I meet him?"

"I'll kill you! You and anyone with you!"

Maybe not.

"The lord doesn't meet with anyone without an appointment," the captain said pointedly.

"Likely." I clicked my tongue. "Is this lord Tornyai by any chance Kykkin Tornyai? If so, he'll want to see me at once."

He frowned at me. "Just a moment." He turned to the others in his group.

Reyjin turned to me. "Are you crazy?" she hissed. "Are you trying to get us killed?"

I shrugged. "If Aera is somewhere around, a crime lord might be a good place to start."

"How did you know his name?" Zenla leaned in. I shrugged again.

"Someone I knew from before I met Reyjin. Long story. Later."

A moment later, the captain turned back to us. "What is your name, girl? I'll tell him you're here, and we'll see what he says."

I considered what to say. Any of what I've gone by might work. "Just say she's here."

After a moment, the guard nodded. "Fine. If he has no idea who you are, don't blame me.''

I smiled mysteriously. "I have no plan to."

"Captain Syvin!" One of the soldiers ran up. "General Tornyai wants us. Says it might get dirty."

Captain Syvin glanced back at us. "I'm coming. Put them in the waiting room for now."

A few of the soldiers led us to an area by the cliffs. Then they left us there and put up a rayshield around it.

Reyjin tapped on the side of the wall. "Well, now I feel like a prisoner. This doesn't bode well."

Zenla sighed. "So, Winera, next move?"

I sighed. "We-" I broke off. Someone was coming.

Kykkin.

Quickly, I looked around.

Yes, I had wanted to see him, but when I had the upper-hand.

There - a post. The generater for the rayshield. "Be ready," I whispered to Reyjin and Zenla.

Quickly, I climbed up the pole and held onto the sides. Using a small knife hidden in my boot, I pried the panel off, reveling a giant network of wires. The red one. It was always the red one.

"You said three!" I peeked around the edge of the pole. Kykkin was standing there in all his bounty-hunter glory, glaring at the guards. "Where is the third?"

Reyjin and Zenla glanced at each other nervously.

Where is it? Where is it? I searched for the wire.

There!

I grabbed the wire and cut it.

The rayshield flickered several times, then fell.

Kykkin turned and stared up at me. Then he pointed.

"Get her down from there! I want her alive!"
