"Run!"
I leaped down from the pole and took down two of the guards before they knew what was happening.
Reyjin and Zenla took off, looking back at me every now and then. I ran after them, kicking and punching the pursuing guards whenever they got too close.
As I ran between a gap in the wall, a blue light flashed, and a sharp pain flashed up my leg.
I staggard a few feet more, then fell to the ground.
Curse Kykkin's shock traps!
Traps I'd helped design.
I shook my head hard. Come on, Winera, not time to think about that, get moving!
I shoved myself up and started off again. My entire left leg was numb up to the thigh, so I was basically hopping while dragging it behind me. Finally, the numbness wore off, and although it still smarted like crazy, I was able to run again.
Within a few minutes, I found Reyjin and Zenla. They were in a small alcove of the cliff side.
"And I used to like this place," Reyjin grumbled as the soldiers rushed in at us. She glanced upward. "All man for himself."
She made a move to jump up the cliff wall, but more guards came and cut off that route. The soldiers in the front parted and Kykkin walked forward.
"Welcome back, Hunter-girl."
We were caught.
SOOOOOOOOOO.... It's dark. I know. The next chapters are worse, and only slightly brain-exploding. But sadly, you will have to wait two weeks to find out what happens next. BECAUUUUUUUSE....... next week is going to be what I call "Sneak-Peek Week".
It's going to be about some of my other writings. Like blurbs, sneak-peaks, etc.. It'll be fun. I will be starting on Monday, and will go to Friday. SOOOOOOOOO.... until then, happy reading!
