May the Fourth be With you -minor spoilers-

Hello there.

I don't know how many of you realized or remembered, but May fourth is in a sense Star Wars day.

So I thought I'd take today as an excuse to fangirl about the Star Wars franchise.

Basically, get ready for a lot of ranking!

Let's start with ranking all twelve movies from least favorite to favorite.
This is NOT best to worst movie -although I would argue my least favorites are the worst- this is really just my opinion.
Please please please don't scream at me in the comments about my choices; but do talk about what your favorites are :D I'd love to hear about them.

So.
The movies:

12. The Last Jedi

If you've ever talked about Star Wars with me in person, you should know how much I scream about this movie. Aaaaaand not in a good way. I asked my older sister a few months ago what her thoughts on this movie were, if she had any scenes she liked. She came up with a handful.
There are some scenes in The Last Jedi that are really neat. To name a few:
  1. The Red Room scene.
  2. Luke Skywalker vs. the entire First Order
  3. General "Hugs" -the scene when Poe is bantering with Hux at the beginning
  4. Chase scene in the Millenium Falcon  on Crait

See, it's not entirely bad. But it's a THREE HOUR LONG movie, y'all. My little list covers maybe fifteen to twenty MINUTES. I find this one to be pretty boring, not to mention that several of my favorite characters *cough Poe cough* are completely RUINED. And what was the point of Rose, anyways????? I can think of a really great way to fix this movie but-

I've screamed about it far too long. Let's move on!

11. Solo

This one is more like 11.5, only slightly better than The Last Jedi. It's a fine backstory for Han
Solo, but it definitely messed up several factors. I THOUGHT HAN WON THE FALCON BY
PLAYING DICE. ISN'T THAT WHY HE CARRIED AROUND THE PAIR OF GOLDEN DICE????? THAT'S
WHAT IT SAYS IN MY CHARACTER-PEDIA!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this was supposed to be series, so I try to cut the ending a little slack, but STILL. I just...
don't want to talk about this movie anymore...

10. Attack of the Clones

I've recently rewatched this movie, and I was reminded of a few pointers:
Most of the action sequences are REALLY good.
Most of the non-action sequences are kinda boring.
The Speeder chase around Courascant, the Arena/Battle of Geonosis, Obi-Wan vs. Jango, those
are all really great scenes. But the others... leave so much out. Why does Gunray want to kill
Padme? Who exactly is Syfo Dias? Should we have known Count Dooku before this movie? Also,
I feel like Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen could have put a little more emotion into
their speech. Anakin sounds ready to take a nap the entire movie.
Also, I just hate the romance.
There are multiple fine scenes, just the rest aren't my favorite.

9. Rise of Skywalker

I don't have a whole lot against this movie. The fights are pretty good, the inner conflict of the
characters is pretty good, the visuals are pretty good.
The only things I have against it:

- HE'S BACK. Why the heck did Palpatine have to return??? Yes, I know Darth Plagus taught
him how to defeat death, but that doesn't mean EVERYTHING that held the prequels and
originals together had to be destroyed.
-Leia's death. Yeah, I knew she had to go out somehow, and a redemption of her son was a fine
way, but it felt very abrupt and out of place to me. But whatevs, I might be over-reacting.
-REY BURIED ANAKIN'S LIGHTSABER IN THE SAND!!!!!!!!
Need I say more????
My favorite part was when the dead Jedi spoke to Rey. I mean, come on! Who doesn't love
getting Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jyn, Yoda, Kanan Jarrus,
Luminare Unduli, Aayla Secura, and all the others talking in your head??? I just can't get over
the fact that they included Kanan. I love my Rebels, guys...

8. Clone Wars

I hold nothing against this movie. I really like this movie. Yes, I count it as being on the movie ranking. I'm talking about the movie, when you first meet Ahsoka , and Anakin has to save the Huttlet... ya know the one? I'm not talking about the series. That deserves a place all its own.
Anyways, I watched this a little while ago, and it was pretty good. The only reason it ranks low is because, well, I like other stuff better.
But I have to say, young Snips and Skyguy will always break my heart AND make me happy at the same time. Don't ask how. Just roll with it.

7. The Empire Strikes Back

FAITH, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!!!!!!!!!
These next choices are very very very difficult, but I had to put this one a little lower down on the list. I hold NOTHING against this movie, it's just not my favorite. I'm also not that big on romantic stuff, so while I like the Leia-Han relationship better than the Padme-Anakin, it's still not my top thing to watch.

6. The Force Awakens

I really like the characters. A defective stormtrooper, hotshot rebel pilot, a no-body who's powerful in the Force. Let's look at this and imagine what it could have been without the other two after trashing it up.
Let's say Rey really is just a scavenger who has the Force. Not unheard of. We already met a slave boy who has the Force, even if he was part of a fancy prophecy. For once we might have a cool female Jedi in the movies. Up until now, the only female leads were Padme and Leia, and they're both something else. I love Leia. I don't love Padme. I'm not the biggest fan of Rey, but I thought in the first movie of the sequels she was really cool.

5. A New Hope

I recently decided I like this movie more than I initially did. It's not my favorite on the basis that Luke seems like little Anakin just older... huh, kinda like Anakin from Attack of the Clones, except he actually knows how to show emotion. Whoaaa.
I know I can't scream about the lightsaber duel because it's the first movie, but still... if you look at it chronologically, Vader had to have had a bad week...
Anyways, I love the attack on the Death Star, I love Leia's snark, I love quoting it, but I also love other movies better.

4. Revenge of the Sith

For a while, this was my very favorite. While by now there are aspects that I don't like, I can't help but scream about ALL THE MANY BEAUTIFUL LIGHTSABER DUELS!!!
For a time, Revenge of the Sith had dropped lower down on the list, but Clone Wars fixed it for me. I'd thought, why on earth would Anakin do all that evil stuff for someone he sees once every ten years? Then I watched Clone Wars and... yep. It all makes sense. I'm that weird person who likes Star Wars a lot better when you look at the extra stories. except for solo

3. Return of the Jedi

I just have something with the third installation of a series. More often than not, the third book/movie ends up as my favorite. Of course, there are some exceptions, but I said USUALLY.
Anyways, I really like this one because it shows more of the Rebellion working together, basically the entire time. The other two before it have the X-wings and such now and then, but aren't as big.
Can I say though, Palpatine needs some chapstick.

2. Rouge One

When I finished watching Rouge One for the first time, I said, "I don't like it. There aren't any Jedi or lightsaber duels. This movie sucks." Well, that mindset has changed a great deal. Excepting Revenge of the Sith, I no longer classify movies on their duels.
Anyways, I love the character arcs. I love the villains. I love the time period. I love the time period. I love the perspective. I love that there aren't any hidden Jedi. I also hate that there aren't any hidden Jedi, but that's besides the point. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that there are no Jedi or duels, this would be my favorite movie. ...Guess I have to eat my words...

IT HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR MY FANFIC. If you guys beg hard enough, I might be willing to drop a few clues as to my other Star Wars fanfiction I'm working on. One I'm hoping might one day become canon...

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST.....
you guys probably already know what's coming. But here it is:

1. Phantom Menace

Everyone thinks I'm crazy for loving this movie. But I love the characters. Yes, even Jar Jar Binks.
WHY DOES NO ONE EVER FIGURE OUT WHO PALPS IS?????????? HE'S BEEN DROPPING HINTS LIKE CRAZY!!!!!!! LIKE THE ENTIRE MOVIE.

I could fangirl about Star Wars for ages, but I'm hard pressed for time, so I have to cut it short.

Thanks for reading!

May the fourth be with you.

  1. okay, okay, I won't fight you. Not this time. *evil chuckle*

Decent list and I agree with soooome of it. I think I'd have to switch 5 and 6, because 5 is the best sequel ever made, but...otherwise pretty good xD
